II Technical Days of the BIONATURA Project on the 17th and 18th of October in São Miguel
The Regional Agency for Energy and Environment of the Autonomous Region of the Azores (ARENA) promotes, on the 17th and 18th of October, in the auditorium of the Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory, in São Miguel, the II Technical Days of the BIONATURA Project under the subject “Management and Conservation of the Biodiversity in the Macaronesia”.
Fitted by the Community initiative INTERREG III B, the BIONATURA is implemented in the Region with the support of the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and the Sea, having the next meeting as objective presenting the joint studies developed by the archipelagos of the Azores, Madeira and the Canary Islands.
The Days, which inscription limit date is on the 14th of October, will have as main public students and university teachers, investigation centres / institutes, specialized technicians in management of the biodiversity, among others.
“Biodiversity of the Macaronesia”, “Conservation of nature in the Macaronesia”, “Net NATURA 2000 in the archipelagos of Macaronesia” and “Invading sorts” constitute the four groups of analysis and discussion in the meeting that will bring together specialists coming from the several regions.
Besides the works developed in the auditorium of the Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory, the II Technical Days of the BIONATURA Project integrate a field visit with the investigators.
In June of this year, the first days of the project gathered nearly 120 technicians, specialists and students in the campus of Angra do Heroísmo of the University of the Azores.
